Massage therapy is one of the commonly used techniques in both holistic and western medicine. During a massage, the body ligaments, connective tissues, muscles and tendons are manipulated to enhance the health of the patient. Because this therapy is not invasive, it has no side effects. Deep Tissue massage

Swedish massage is one of the most common relaxing massages. It involves five gentle strokes, all which should grind the muscle in the direction that fosters flow of blood to the heart. The various techniques used in this massage include are; kneading, long strokes, shaking motions, application of friction and tapping.

Shiatsu is a Japanese word meaning pressure applied through fingers. In this massage, only palms, thumbs and fingers are used to apply pressure to the muscles. Just like in acupuncture, the therapist will apply varying pressure at various shiatsu points of the body.


Aromatherapy is a massage technique that utilizes essential oils to foster healing. Different essential oils are used to achieve the desired outcome. This technique is known to be very effective in stress and anxiety relief.


This is also one of the most common massage therapy techniques. It involves the insertion of fine needles in the body’s meridian points. The objective of this therapy is to balance body energy flow, thus restoring health.
